About the author

Margaret's career in computing started in London in the 1970's with Fortran programming, then teaching on computer courses. During a break from full-time work to bring up her three children the family moved to Frome, where she continued with music studies and gave private piano lessons.

In 1997/98 she updated her computer skills by doing a full-time MSc in Computer Science at Bath University. After two years working as a software developer she left her job in order to combine her two main areas of expertise in creating interactive music theory software. The piano lessons have continued throughout, giving plenty of first-hand experience in how youngsters learn.
